Tea And Bingo Could Be The Key To Better Health

Mung beans, Atkins, Pilates, Goji berries… you need to keep your finger on the pulse if you want to keep up with the latest health kick! Here at freebingo.net we’re sometimes a little bit lazy so we’re generally looking for the easy option to improve our health, and by jove I think we’ve found it! Californian and Japanese research suggests whilst we’ve got our feet up enjoying a game of online bingo and drinking a cuppa we’re sharpening our minds and preventing certain types of blood and lymphatic cancers!

Research from the University of California in Los Angeles suggests that using the internet can slow the onset of dementia.  Great news for us because we’re online all day! Western Mail columnist Carolyn Hitt suggests that bingo is a prime example of an activity that keeps your mind active, referred to bingo as an “adrenaline-fuelled” game which forced her brain to have a workout as she tried to daub off the numbers as quickly as the bingo caller announces the numbers.

Timothy Parry, from the Alzheimer’s Research Trust agreed that using the internet required using various mental processes which supports the “use it or lose it” theory, but further research was necessary to support the claim.

To keep your brain as fit as a fiddle, don’t sit back and let the autodaub do all the hard work, try to beat the caller with your cursor!

With regards to the benefits of drinking tea, Dr Tory Naganuma has spent 9 years studying over 40,000 green tea drinkers and theorises that people who drank more than five cups of green tea everyday saw a health benefit of up to 42% reduction in the chance of developing certain blood and lymph system cancers! (This was compared to those that only drank one cup of green tea daily).

So is there any truth in these theories or is it a load of old codswallop?  We’re no experts so we can’t say that drinking green tea and playing online bingo will improve your health for sure but we love tea and bingo anyway… so pop the kettle on will ya?
